Dangerous Heat Index Donation Drive

High Heat Index Levels Across the Philippines and NextGen's Response

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued a warning regarding the dangerously high heat index levels expected across the Philippines during the summer season. Over 30 areas, including Metro Manila, are identified as being at risk. These elevated heat index levels pose significant health risks, necessitating urgent preventive measures.

The high heat index can lead to severe health issues, including heat exhaustion and heat stroke. The public is advised to take necessary precautions, such as staying hydrated and avoiding prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.

In response to these alarming conditions, NextGen, with the support of generous donors, has initiated a program to provide relief to vulnerable populations. The organization has distributed electric fans and water tumblers to select public schools in Negros and Navotas, aiming to improve cooling and hydration for students and teachers. This initiative ensures that students and teachers have access to better cooling and hydration, contributing to their overall well-being during the extreme heat.

NextGen remains committed to prioritizing the comfort and health of Filipinos, particularly during this challenging season. Continued support and donations are crucial to expanding this initiative and ensuring more communities benefit.
